Drug and Alcohol Group

Focus Areas

• Gain accurate facts about alcohol, tobacco and illegal drugs.
• Identify the signs of drug abuse.
• Develop healthy judgment skills and problem-solving techniques.
• Learn coping skills to improve self-esteem.
• Understand the legal ramification of drug use.
• Learn refusal skills to assist in peer pressure situations.
• Learn better ways to deal with high-pressure situations.
• Realize the importance of developing a healthy sense of self.
• Learn available resources for help.


Girls Group

Focus Areas

• Foster self-esteem.
• Help girls maintain authentic connection with peers and adult women.
• Allow for self-expression through verbal and creative activity.
• Cultivate listening skills about concerns and shared interest.
• Examine cultural differences and similarities with other females.
• Build friendships and bonds with one another.
• Promote resiliency and connection.


Local Parents and Teenage Substance Use & Abuse - Wednesday, October 29. 6-7 p.m. Roaring Fork High School Cafeteria/Auditorium. This open discussion is being held in response to overwhelming feedback on the growing impacts of substance abuse in local communities. The discussion will include hearing from a local couple whose son has struggled with substance abuse for several years.
